Scranton HDFS Community Club hosts suicide prevention event

In recent years, suicide has become a growing scourge on college campuses across the country. But with more education, vigilance and resources, there’s no reason why those numbers can’t dramatically plummet. That was the takeaway from the Penn State Scranton Human Development and Family Studies Community Club’s first educational awareness event of the 2019-20 academic year.

Penn State Scranton to host fall veterans conference funded by Spitz Foundation

On Thursday, Nov. 7, Penn State Scranton will host its first Veterans Employment & Education Conference, which will be centered around career education, leadership development and translating military experience to civilian life for veterans and active-duty military personnel. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on campus, with optional one-on-one career counseling services available to veterans from 2 to 5 p.m.
