2018 Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Fair winners announced

Penn State Worthington Scranton students from a variety of disciplines and academic programs presented their research and creative projects at this year's 12th annual Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Fair. Over 75 students presented a total of 54 projects and research posters at the event.

Last spring, Penn State awarded a record-breaking 83 Erickson Discovery Grants to undergraduate students engaged in original research projects after receiving another record-breaking 219 applicants for those grants.

Kiernan Riley, a senior honor’s nursing student at Penn State Worthington Scranton, was awarded a Penn State Student Engagement Network grant to study the effects of a teaching intervention about organ donation on high school students’ attitudes and intent to register as organ donors when applying for drivers’ licenses.

Grant to help nursing student pursue engaged learning experience

Kalei Kowalchik, a sophomore honor’s nursing major at Penn State Worthington Scranton, has been awarded a Penn State Student Engagement Network grant to pursue an engaged learning experience with the Visiting Nurses Association Home Health and Hospice of Lackawanna County.
2017 Erickson Discovery Grants

Record 83 undergraduates receive 2017 Erickson Discovery Grants

Eighty-three students from across Penn State’s campuses will each be awarded a $3,500 Erickson Discovery Grant for summer 2017 through the Office of Undergraduate Education. The students will use the funds to immerse themselves in original research, scholarship, and creative work under the direct supervision of a faculty member.
