Worthington Scranton welcomes new Student Government Association officers

DUNMORE, Pa. -- Penn State Worthington Scranton recently named and swore in the new Student Government Association (SGA) officers for the 2017-18 year during a ceremony at the annual Student Leader Recognition Dinner.

The SGA officers are the representative voice of the student body, working hard to help students’ ideas become reality.  They will be responsible for assisting campus student organizations and hearing what students are asking for by working with the Student Senate.

SGA officers also promote student welfare and sponsor functions for the campus student body. These activities engage students and bring life to campus activities.

The 2017-18 PSWS Student Government Association Officers include:

President: Ashli Daley, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Class of 2018.

Vice President: Elizabeth Brandt, pursuing a Bachelor of Art in Human Development and Family Studies, Class of 2019.

Chief Justice: Shanie Mohamed, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Class of 2020.

Treasurer: Monique Robinson, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Class of 2019.

Public Relations: Nicole Paolicelli, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing, Class of 2020.

Students, faculty and staff welcomed the new slate of officers and applauded the work over the past year of the outgoing ones, thanking them for their service and congratulating them for a job well done.

Outgoing officers are: President Shawna Corcoran; Vice President Allan Souza, Chief of Staff Angelia Migliaccio, Treasurer Ashli Daley, Public Relations Officer Rhonda Miller, Senate Leader Asialena Bonitz, and Chief Justice Gina Coccetti.
