Biography
Renee Blakiewicz, a Lackawanna County native, has been serving our community as a healthcare professional for more than 30 years. Mother of three, Renee resides in South Abington Twp. with her husband Scott.
She started her career at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton in 1993 as a nurse’s aide before becoming a registered nurse. She worked as a staff nurse for more than 16 years and then moved into hospital administration, taking on leadership roles in the intensive care unit and then the emergency department. She continued to climb the ranks, becoming Associate Vice President of Clinical Operations of the hospital in 2020 and stepping into her current role Interim Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer in 2023.
Education
Renee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Penn State and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from Misericordia University.
