James McKenna, a psychology major, is shown presenting his research project, “Predicting drug abstinence in recovering opioid addicts: Social support, mental health, and 12-step program attendance” at this year's Undergraduate Research Fair. The project took third place in the Arts and Humanities category at Penn State’s Eastern Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium earlier this year.
According to Marko Marcinko, Penn State School of Music’s director of jazz studies, one of the biggest challenges as an educator is relaying the importance of rehearsal time. “You cannot just talk about it,” he said. “You must work the craft in practice and in performance. Only then can you achieve expertise.”
Dr. Michael Evans, Nursing advisor and Assistant Teaching Professor of Nursing, attended the Greater Pittsburgh Nursing Research Conference (GPNRC), October 2017, with students Katlyn Reynolds, Kiernan Riley, and Kalei Kowalchick.
