Get off to a great start!


New Student Orientation (NSO)

New students will receive instructions by email and telephone to register for NSO once they have completed their placement testing.

This is an interactive day open to students and families to introduce them to resources and services on campus. Topics include:

  • Overview of the academic structure at Penn State including majors offered, curriculum, and academic and entrance to major requirements
  • Advising and scheduling of classes
  • Penn State Technology, id+ Card & Student Access Account
  • Financial Aid and Billing
  • Student Services

Before attending your New Student Orientation session, you must:

  1. Complete your ALEKS placement exam 

  2. Register for your New Student Orientation session at Penn State Worthington Scranton

  3. Complete your Advising Homework
